All profit goes to the British Red Cross in Japan, to support their work in the affected areas after the earthquake and tsunami.

In the studio … The Gent Go Go Roller Derby team!

The Supafly-collective decided to expand their interests and highlight sports for a change. Why not?

We had Els and Evelyne in the studio, two members of the first Roller Derby team in Belgium. Roller what? Roller Derby is a full contact sport on roller skates where two teams battle it out on an oval track. The goal of the game is to have your jammer pass by as many players from the opposite team as possible. 

And the great thing is: This game is played by women only!

Gent GO-GO Roller Girls is Belgium’s first roller derby team. First founded in the fall of 2008, this all skater operated and owned sports association is serious about spreading the derby love through Flanders and Europe. Their all female team currently has over 25 members, plus some male referees and they are always interested in adding new players to the roster. They practice three times a week, work hard and have a lot of fun.
